It’s also about a cemetery and an orchard, which in this story are the same thing. In it, there’s a boy and his father who liked to plant trees and a doctor who loved to identify them. It’s a story about death, yes, and burial, but it’s also about the restorative peace of nature and the value of work amid grief. The spoiler, it’s no surprise, is that no one escapes death, nor do we escape losing someone to it — or being left with the logistical decisions of what to do with their body or our sorrow.....
